πŸŒ™ July Poetry Night

A Casual Evening of Writing, Sharing & Community

For the writers, the listeners, and everyone moved by the power of poetry! Step inside our cozy independent bookstore for a relaxed evening dedicated to exploring words and writing together.

This month is all about keeping it casual and low-pressure.

We’ll be diving into a fun writing prompt about “pets” together, exploring our creativity, and sharing what we write-but only if you feel like it!

Whether you want to try out the prompt, read a favorite published poem, share something you've already written, or just grab a sweet treat and quietly listen, you are so welcome here.

  • Treats & Drinks: Complimentary refreshments and snacks will be provided by the bookstore to keep the creative energy flowing.

✍️ How to Secure Your Spot

How to join:

  • Option A: Pay a $5 entry fee, which instantly becomes a $5 credit toward any used book.

  • Option B: Bring in a receipt from any $5 purchase made at the shop this July for free entry!

What happens when you finally quiet the noise long enough to hear your own voice?

Hemming Season is a deeply reflective collection of spiritual essays and poetry that guides you through emotional healing, self-discovery, and finding purpose. Written from a place of true transformation, this work examines what it means to align with your inner world in a modern life driven by constant urgency and distraction.

Happiness from a Different Source

We tend to look for happiness outside ourselves, thinking that if we arrange everything perfectly, we would be truly happy.

We could change our home or our partner countless times, but until we change our restless, discontented mind, we will never find real happiness. It is time we sought happiness from a different source. Happiness is a part of the mind, so the real source of happiness must lie within us.

Learn the true source of happiness within our own peaceful mind through the practice of Buddhist meditation.

- Kadam Amy Peng, Teacher

Here is our meditation teacher, Lekso. Here for you on Tuesday nights for meditation class.

Cost: $15 suggested donation
